| The script on my work is CUNEIFORM; wedge-shaped impressions in clay. It is read from left to right and top to bottom. This early form of writing was developed in Mesopotamia by the Sumerians in approximately 3,000 B.C. It documented their commercial transactions, myths, lamentations, astronomy, mathematics, medicine, observations of nature, events, law, literature... in short, their evolving civilization and culture. Cuneiform writing spread throughout the ancient Middle East and was in use by many succeeding civilizations including the Babylonians, Assyrians, Hitties and Persians. Cuneiform script was last used in about 100 A.D.
